NMEC Convention Activities

NMEC participates annually at three Conventions: American Exploration & Mining Association (AEMA), Association for Mineral Exploration AME Roundup (AME), and Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC).  These three conventions represent the largest mineral exploration conventions and gatherings of explorers, miners, suppliers, and investors held annually in the United States and Canada.  Individuals at these conventions have a direct impact on investment, exploration, and mineral development in Nevada.

In each case, as the convention approaches there will be a colorful ‘Save the Date’ reminder bar on the NMEC website with the latest information and a link to participate personally and/or financially.

For each convention NMEC seeks sponsors to support and help defray the costs of our efforts.  Sponsorship can be made at any of five levels ranging from Diamond at $1,500 to Copper at $250. We will, of course, accept support at any level.  At the event, NMEC will recognize all sponsorship with posters with company logos.   Sponsors can add their logo information and donate any time of the year at: https://nvmec.org/event-sponsorship-opportunities.

AMEA

NMEC hosts an Explorers Lounge at the AMEA convention, typically held annually in early December at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, Nevada.  The lounge is usually located on the path to the technical talks.  It is a place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea, meet with clients, network, and catch up with old friends. The room features displays highlighting Nevada mineral exploration topics and NMEC member’s projects or services.

As a benefit of membership, NMEC will provide an 11” x 17” poster with your name, logo, tag line and small graphic set on a small area of table space where members can set out brochures, business cards, rocks, maps, etc. Non-members may take advantage of this benefit with a payment which includes a full year individual membership in the NMEC. Corporate members can contact Dave Shaddrick for additional opportunities.

AME Roundup

NMEC hosts an exhibit booth at the AME Roundup convention.  The AME Roundup is held in late January at the convention center in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

In 2023, NMEC moved from a meeting room lounge format to an exhibit booth in the main convention hall for better traffic. NMEC has a 10′ by 10′ booth adjacent to the Nevada Division of Minerals (NDOM) 10′ by 10′ booth.  We are part of the ‘Nevada Area’ at the Roundup meeting.  As such, we are in an excellent position to promote Nevada Exploration and our member’s companies, projects and services as well as field questions by convention goers covering all things exploration in Nevada including: geologic, drilling, environmental, permitting services and more.

The display space is small, but NMEC hands out member companiy’s small flyers and business cards.  Members can supply these items free of charge.

PDAC

NMEC is part the Nevada Pavilion at the PDAC convention.  PDAC is held annually the first week in March at the convention center in downtown Toronto Ontario, Canada.

The Nevada Pavilion is a 20′ by 20′ display booth usually located in the North Hall of the convention center.  The pavilion is a collaborative effort hosted by Nevada Division of Minerals (NDOM). Other participating groups include:

  • The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED),
  • Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology (NBMG),
  • Nevada Mining Association (NVMA),
  • Northern Nevada Regional Development Authority (NNRDA),
  • United States Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
  • Geologic Society of Nevada (GSN)

PDAC is the largest convention of its type on the North American continent and as such we are in an excellent position to promote Nevada Exploration and member’s companies, projects and services as well as field questions from convention goers covering all things exploration in Nevada including: geologic, drilling, environmental, permitting services and investment opportunities.  NMEC has a large display counter to lay out, at no charge, member business cards and information on their companies, projects, or services.
