Greenlink Powerline Projects and YOU
Two proposed Greenlink Projects would construct new powerlines and new or upgraded facilities (substations, amplifier and microwave sites, etc). NV Energy will blade new, and upgrade existing, access routes. The North route will run from Fort Churchill eastward towards Ely. The West set will extend from the Reno area down to near North Las Vegas.
Many active mining claims could be affected. Are some of those claims yours?
This map, and related detail maps, are intended to alert owners that some claims might see surface disturbances and/or have project components constructed on them. A "prudent man" might keep a before-and-after eye (and camera) on his claims to document any such changes and to assure the responsible parties properly reclaim those disturbed lands.
Concerned about alignment of powerlines or siting of towers and facilities? Start talking with BLM and NV Energy before construction begins. Keep records. It could be extremely costly (in time and money) to move an existing powerline off an ore deposit you want to mine.
All Greenlink components shown on these maps were sourced directly from the BLM website (see list below). Details may change over time.
