The 15th Annual Mineral Exploration Summit will be held OCTOBER 28, 2025 at the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada


THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT – Program update

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?  Anyone involved or interested in any facet of Nevada’s mining industry.  

WHAT IS THE Nevada Mineral Exploration Coalition (NMEC)?  A not-for-profit, non-partisan coalition of small businesses and individuals engaged in, or in support of, mineral exploration and development activities in the State of Nevada. Our mission is to Preserve and Promote the mineral exploration industry of Nevada. 

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE ANNUAL MINERAL EXPLORATION SUMMIT? The Summit brings together industry, legislative and regulatory decision makers as well as representatives of other non-governmental organizations to discuss topics of critical importance to the exploration industry of Nevada. 

PROGRAM DETAILS:  The program details will be added here as it is fleshed out. The Program being developed will include presentations and panel discussions on issues related to legislation, regulation, public lands access, plus updates from government agencies and industry organizations

REGISTRATION: Your registration includes continental breakfast, plated lunch with keynote speaker, and an afternoon reception with hosted hors d’oeuvres and bar. You are encouraged to register for the Summit at the bottom of this page

Early registration thru Tuesday, October 21, 2025:

     Members: $275

     Nonmembers: $425 (includes a NMEC membership through 2026)

Late registration after Tuesday, October 21, 2025, and onsite:

     Members: $375

     Nonmembers: $525 (includes a NMEC membership through 2026)

Summit Program

The AMES program is still being finalized and speakers confirmed. The AMES meeting will be held from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with a Lunchon (with speaker) and an evening reception to follow.

Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. (continues all day) and includes a Continental Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Morning Sessions

  • 8:00-8:30 – Elizabeth Zbinden, Acting President, Nevada Mineral Exploration Coalition: Election and Business Meeting (annual report), and tribute to Dave Shaddrick.
  • 8:30-10:15 – First Morning Session:
    • Three presentations covering actions and polices of the new administration, and their effects on the Nevada exploration & mining industry.  These include:
      • Lacy Trapp**, Branch Chief, Solid Minerals Branch, Division of Minerals and Energy, Bureau of Land Management: New Permitting options and how they affect Nevada (final confirmation pending)
      • Sandra Brewer**, Resource Advisor, BLM NV State Office, Office of the State Director: New NEPA guidelines and how they affect Nevada (final confirmation pending)
      • Debra Struhsacker, Environmental Permitting and Government Relations Consultant: Overview of the Trump administration’s Executive and Secretarial Orders, mining policies and Congressional activities important to mining. (confirmed)
      • ** if the government shutdown is still in effect at the time of our meeting, Debra Struhsacker will present an overview of the NEPA changes then will moderate a panel of professionals in the permitting field to discuss their experience with the new NEPA 
  • 10:15-10:30 – Coffee break
  • 10:30-12:00 – Second Morning Session
    • Panel presentation – Moderated by Eli Turner – State of the Nevada Exploration Industry with CEO’ of several Nevada junior companies including: Bill Howald (Blackrock Silver Corp), Kimberly Ann (Lahontan Gold Corp), Chad Peters (Ridgeline Minerals Corp), and Caleb Stroup (Headwater Inc)

Luncheon

  • 12:00-1:30 – Luncheon: Simon Jowitt – Title: Understanding the impact and value of publicly available precompetitive geoscience data for mineral exploration

Afternoon Sessions

  • 1:30-3:00 – First Afternoon Session
    • 1:00-2:00 – Rob Ghiglieri, Administrator Nevada Division of Minerals – State of Nevada’s Mineral Industry
    • 2:00-2:30 – James Settelmeyer, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources – DCNR and Mineral Exploration: Regulatory and Administrative Changes 
    • 2:30-3:00 – Rich DeLong, Natural Resources Committee of Nevada State Assembly And Nikki Bailey-Lundahl, NvMA VicePresident of External Affairs: Legislative Issues being considered during the intersession 
  • 3:00-3:15 – Coffee break
  • 3:15-4:00 – Second Afternoon Session
    • Adelya Makhankova, Octavia Technologies Inc – Bringing Seismic Back: Integrating Seismic Interpretation and AI for Uranium Exploration

  • 4:00-6:00 – Reception
